Mr. Jason Sarvis
My name is Jason Sarvis and this will be my 6th year as the Physical Education teacher at Carl A. Furr Elementary School. I am entering my 17th year teaching P.E. in Cabarrus County. I taught 9 years at J.M. Robinson High School where I was an Assistant Football Coach (2 years), Head JV Baseball Coach(1 year), and Head Varsity Baseball Coach (8 years).
I grew up in Concord, NC and I graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School in 1999. I earned my B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science from UNC Greensboro, where I also played baseball.
My wife is a 1st grade teacher at Odell Primary School. I have a daughter who will be in the 5th grade at Furr this year and a step-daughter who will be starting her sophomore year at UNCC. We love going to the beach/mountains, working at our house, and spending time with our 3 dogs (Allie, Harley, and Daisey).
I am excited to begin the 2022-2023 school year. Please encourage your child to wear tennis shoes/appropriate clothing on days they have PE. We will cover a variety of units inluding locomotor skills, striking, throwing, catching, team sports, etc. Please encourage your child to be active during their PE class in order to create good habits that can transition into their adult lives. I am excited about leading the PE program at Carl A. Furr and look forward to working with the K-5 students.
