Lt Col Calvin Martin
Lieutenant Colonel Calvin Martin is the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for the Air Force JROTC program at Northwest Cabarrus High School. He began his military career in 1982 as an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Launch Officer in the Titan II Weapon System. He culminated his military service at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base as a Missile Operations Squadron Commander and the 90th Space Wing's Director of Staff, retiring from the United States Air Force in 2004. He helped start the Air Force JROTC program at Northwest Cabarrus High School in August 2006. His focus is on the Air Force JROTC mission of "developing citizens of character dedicated to serving the nation and community." Additionally, he serves as a member on the School Improvement Team (SIT).

MSgt Linwood Spears
Master Sergeant Linwood Spears is the Aerospace Science Instructor for the Air Force JROTC program at Northwest Cabarrus High School. He is originally from the small town of Bunnlevel, NC located in Harnett County. He immediately began his military career after graduating from Western Harnett High School in 1989 as an Airborne Fire Support Special in the U.S. Army. He transitioned to the U.S. Air Force in 2001 and served as an Orthotist. He retired from the Air Force in 2011 and served as an Air Force JROTC Instructor at Zebulon B. Vance High School in Charlotte, NC for 5 years from 2011 through 2016. He is dedicated to the Air Force JROTC mission of "developing citizens of character dedicated to serving the nation and community.
