Testing Overview
**ACT Testing for ALL Juniors 3/7/23**ALL 11th grade students in North Carolina will be taking the ACT on MARCH 7th, 2023.There are many different exams students will experience over their four-year tenure at Northwest Cabarrus High. We would like to highlight some of those here and provide additional resources to learn more about each individual test. As always, please contact your counselor with any questions or concerns.

2022-2023 Exam Schdule- PSAT/NMSQT - OCTOBER 12, 2022 (no makeup date)
- Pre-ACT (ALL 10th graders) - THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd, 2022
- Fall ACT Workkeys - WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2022 - 12th graders who have completed/will complete a 2nd level/advanced course in a Career Pathway and are designated by NCDPI are required to test.
- Fall EOC - JANUARY 13 - 20, 2023
- ACCESS Testing for English Language Learners- February 16th- March 10th, 2023
- ACT (ALL 11th graders) - MARCH 7, 2023
- Advanced Placement (AP) Exams - MAY 1, 2023 - MAY 12, 2023
- Spring ACT Workkeys (seniors) - February 21 - March 24, 2022 - seniors who have completed a 2nd level course in a career pathway as designated by NCDPI and did not test during the Fall 2022 testing window.
- Spring EOC - JUNE 3rd - 8th, 2022 (testing windows closes on the last day of testing, 6/8/23)
- SAT (CollegeBoard) - Students must signup and register through CollegeBoard at https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat. The SAT is optional and students test outside of school on Saturdays.
ALL EOCs will be administered online at school.Students enrolled in these courses are required to take the final assessment. Exemptions are not allowed.Students must report to school to take their EOC exams.

Teacher-made Exams

Classes that are not required to take a state EOC or CTE assessment will be required to take a teacher-made final exam. Seniors may exempt teacher-made exams if the criteria stated in the exam exemption section below are met.
Test Exemption Policy

In order to exempt an exam:
- SENIOR - You must be a senior.
- COURSE GRADE - You must have a grade of 80 or better when 1st and 2nd nine-week grades are averaged together for that class.
- ATTENDANCE - You must not have more than 3 absences in that class.
- DISCIPLINE - You must not have served in ISS or OSS the entire year. (Check with the Control Room to confirm this.)
Please note that this exemption policy does not apply to EOC or AP Courses.
TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodations for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and Advanced Placement (AP) exams must be submitted and approved by the testing company. Please note that a student having an IEP or a 504 plan does NOT automatically qualify them for accommodations in these exams.College Board Assessments (PSAT, SAT, AP Exams)To request accommodations, please complete the CollegeBoard-Consent Form for Accommodations Request and/or ACT Consent Form for Accommodations and return it to Ms. Mauldin in the testing office. Please be advised that it could take up to 8 weeks to receive their decision, so please plan accordingly.
