Welcome to 5th grade!

I am excited to be returning to 5th grade teaching math on a 3-man team again this year! 

Born in upstate New York, I moved to Virginia after graduating from high school and began pursuing a degree in Biology. After getting married, my husband and I moved to North Carolina. I graduated from UNC Charlotte in June of 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Science and was named Outstanding Senior of the Year for the College of Education. I taught 2nd grade in Kannapolis City Schools for 4 years before our first son was born. After taking an extended break to stay home with my boys, I have over 15 years of combined teaching experience and this will be my 6th year teaching 5th grade at Winecoff. My husband and I are blessed with two baseball-loving boys.  Both of my boys attended Winecoff Kindergarten through 5th Grade. My oldest is now a Senior at Northwest Cabarrus High School in the STEM Honors Program, and my youngest is a 7th grader at Northwest Cabarrus STEM Middle School this year. I am thrilled to be teaching at my neighborhood school!
