Mrs. Kristy Elwood, M.Ed-Fifth Grade

Welcome to 5th grade! I am beyond thrilled to be your child's reading teacher. This is my 17th year teaching. Words cannot describe the excitement I have to be teaching at Hickory Ridge. We are going to have a fantastic year filled with exciting learning experiences. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at any time throughout the school year.
 
Some fun facts about me are:
 
*My daughter Paisley turned 4 on June 11 and she is a pure joy!
* I have two step-children. Aubrie is in 7th grade and Lane is a 5th grader.
*My family and I love to travel. My husband and I recently traveled to Iceland and London this spring. We also took the kids on their first plane ride to California this summer.
*I struggle to drive past Dunkin Donuts without stopping for an iced coffee or pink strawberry coconut refresher.

  • Reading Homework:

    Read 30 at home on Monday-Thursday evenings!

    2 passed iReady lessons per week due every Monday. This is only homework if it is not completed in class by Fridays.

    Student Absences

    Please fill out the Absence Excuse Form if your child will be absent from school. It will be sent directly to our data manager, who will forward the information to your child’s teacher.
