Mrs. Maharaj

Welcome to second grade. My name is Omatie Maharaj. I am so excited to have your child in my class. I am confident your child will have an enriching and fun learning experience. I am from the beautiful Caribbean island of Trinidad & Tobago. I graduated with a Bachelor of Education Degree, with first class honors, in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies from the University of the West Indies.

I have been teaching for the past 3 years. I am passionate about working with young children. I have been married to my amazing husband, Kerry, for the past 16 years and we have a precious 15-year-old girl named Hadassah. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and playing word games. 

I highly regard collaboration with all stakeholders for the healthy growth and development of my students. The way children thrive and succeed when parents and educators work together as a team has always amazed me.
