Before joining the West Cabarrus High School family in 2020, I taught English at A. L. Brown High School for four and a half years. I have experience teaching each grade level, including AP English Language and Compostion, and I will be teaching English II and AP Literature this year. I attended Mount Pleasant High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from UNC Greensboro, and earned my teaching license and Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary English at UNC Charlotte. 

I believe that my role in the classroom is, first and foremost, that of a facilitator. It is not my goal to lecture at my students or to spoon feed them information. I set up my course in a way that lets students guide themselves through their learning and to make their education their own. I have high expectations for myself and my students, and I will do everything I can to help my students recognize and reach their full potential.

I'm looking forward to another great year as a Wolverine!
