Welcome to my page!

 

For those of you who do not know me, here is a little about myself.  I grew up on Long Island, New York, but moved up state to Cooperstown when I was 14.  In high school I played soccer, basketball, softball and competed with my two horses in various equestrian competitions.  After I graduated I entered a pre-vet program at Morrisville College, but switched to teaching after two years.  While in college I was on the equestrian team at Morrisville College and I played 4 years on the women’s soccer team at the State University of New York at Oneonta. 

 

When I graduated from college I moved to North Carolina to begin my teaching career in Lincoln County.  That was the 1995-96 school year, so this year will be my 28th year teaching!!!  During those years I gained experience teaching 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th grade, but my favorite is 5th.  I also received my National Board Certification during my time in Lincoln County Schools.  

 

I currently live in Highland Creek with my husband who works for Bank of America and enjoys golfing in his spare time.  I have two children who both went through Cabarrus County schools from Kindergarten to 12th grade.  My daughter Emily is now 18 and just moved to UNC Charlotte for college.  She is a freshman there this year.  She will ride on the equestrian team and might play club soccer.  She was a member of the Cox Mill High School girl's varsity soccer team when they won the 2021 3A State Championship.  She scored the only goal in that game.  It was very exciting.  My son Jacob is 21 and is a college senior at UNC Charlotte studying Marketing Analytics.    He is on the lacrosse team there and was a member of the 2022 MCLA D2 UNC Charlotte team who went to the Elite 8 and ended the season ranked #6 in the country!  That was also very exciting for us!  So, as you can imagine, even though they are in college they still keep us quite busy cheering them on.  

 

In my spare time I enjoy reading, going to concerts (mostly country), traveling, running and spending time with friends at the lake or beach.   My favorite stores are Academy, Dick's, Books A Million, and Target.  I love eating at Tacos For Life, Carolina Alehouse, Bad Daddy's, Chick Fil A, La Authentica and Panera.  My favorite foods are pizza, chocolate, seafood and wings.  I HATE coffee.  I have a dog (Ranger), a bearded dragon (Lucian), a ball python (Rex) as well as a tank full of fish.  I am also planning on getting another horse soon since we sold my daughter's horse in July before she left for school.
