Mrs. Alisha Burnham

My name is Alisha Burnham and I will be your child’s first grade teacher this year. To have a place of growing knowledge and acceptance is what I want for my classroom. I hope that we will be able to work towards a successful year together. 

A little about me: I was born and raised in Decatur, Georgia and attended the University of West Georgia where I graduated with a degree in elementary education. I also attended Walden University and was able to earn my master’s degree in elementary reading with a concentration in math. I have been married for 5 years to my amazing husband, Dane. My entire teaching career has been in lower elementary from pre-k to 2nd grade. This will be my 12th year in education and my 9th year in public education.

This will be my first year at Furr and I couldn't be happier to be a part of the team!!!!!

Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and I hope that my students will also learn to love learning as much as I do. I strive to make my classroom a safe, fun and disciplined place for my students, so they will enjoy coming to my classroom and learning something new every day.
