Krista Benson

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  I am honored and excited to be working with your student in EC resource this year.  To tell you a little about me, this is my sixth year at Cox Mill Elementary and my twenty-sixth year of teaching overall. Before coming to Cox Mill, I spent eight years at Enochville Elementary in Rowan County and taught in my small hometown of Circleville, Ohio, for many years before that. I received my bachelor’s degree in special education from Milligan College and my master’s degree in curriculum, instruction, and assessment from Walden University. I also hold thirty hours of graduate credit past my master’s degree in special education.  I am married to Steve, who owns a counseling practice.  We have a daughter, Zoe, who is in third grade at Cox Mill, and a son, Christopher, who is in first grade at Cox Mill.  We also have an energetic three-year-old collie, Brody, who keeps us on our toes.
