In an effort to improve learning opportunities provided to the students of Bushnell-Prairie City High School and Bushnell-Prairie City Junior High, several changes have been implemented that create a consistent schedule between both buildings, move the start time of the day to capture more instructional minutes, and result in greater flexibility for students. Our annual spring play fell victim to the number of emergency weather days we experienced and our cast was not able to adequately prepare for the performance they had planned. We look forward to next year!
As a district, we value student contact time which has been negatively impacted by weather-related cancellations. In an effort to regain important instructional time, the following calendar changes were approved by the Board of Education at their regular February meeting:
Our district is once again participating in the 5Essentials Survey, which allows parents, students, and teachers to provide information about elements that influence school effectiveness. A message was sent via Skyler to families providing more information. Parents are welcome and encouraged to complete the survey by February 15 by visiting the following link: 5Essentials Parent Survey and select the appropriate survey. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. If at least 20% of our parents take the survey, their collective responses will appear as supplemental information on our school report cards.
