Hi Amazing Meadow View Families,
Our thoughts are with our neighbors and colleagues who are experiencing the devastating loss from the fires. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones.
This is anything but a typical start to the school year. Everything feels a bit upside down and twisted around. We know this may be causing some angst and worry for students and families. It is okay to feel nervous. This is a new experience for all of us. We are here to walk alongside you as we move our learning from face-to-face to virtual. Despite the uncertainty, there is a lot of excitement for the first day of school. Teachers have been immersed in new learning, connecting with students and families and planning for a great start. If you haven’t yet heard from your child’s classroom teacher, you will today.
This Thursday (tomorrow), we will host a virtual Meadow View Meet the Teacher event. Teachers and grade level teams have put together information to share with students to welcome them to the new year. Students will “see” their teacher, learn about their class and fine out about a few things they can expect the first week. We will start the countdown today and build some excitement for our Virtual Meet the Teacher event. The information will be emailed to families at 3pm tomorrow. It is not “live”, so you can access the information anytime after three o’clock. In addition to Virtual Meet the Teacher, many of our grade level teams are planning opportunities for a Zoom “Meet and Greet” throughout the month of September. All Zoom meetings will be set through classroom teachers. We will continue to schedule virtual conferences and check-ins with families throughout the year.
On Thursday, we will also have a video to share with you the ins and outs of Comprehensive Distance Learning and answer many of the most frequently asked questions. Look for that link in your inbox tomorrow at three o’clock, too.
If you haven’t picked up a chromebook yet and still need one, please call the tech line at 541-607-1450. You can make an appointment with our Technology Department to come pick one up. Chromebooks are being updated now and students will be able to login on Thursday, September 10th.
Again, we fully recognize that this is an unusual start to the school year, but we know our Meadow View community can do virtually anything! Go Wolves! As always, if you have any questions or need anything feel free to call the office at 541-607-9700.
Take Care,
Erika and Carmen
