Hello Meadow View Families,
We have our second round of conferences coming up during the week of February 8th-12th. These conferences will look a little bit different from last time. We know each child and each family have different needs right now, therefore we have created a varied approach to conferences.
- You may already be in regular communication with your child’s teacher and may not feel the need to meet at this time.
- You may welcome another opportunity to check in and connect about your child’s learning.
- You may want to do some purposeful planning to support your child’s academic and/or social emotional learning. We are ready to work together.
- You may prefer or need an evening time slot, or time with more than one teacher or a specialist.
- Your child’s teacher might also do some intentional outreach to connect with you.
Whatever you and your family decide around conferences–we will honor your choice.
In the next week, you will receive communication from your child’s teacher with more information about February conferences.
We know that many of you have questions about the move to Hybrid (in-person) learning OR what it will look like to stay in CDL (Comprehensive Distance Learning). We will continue to share information with you as it comes our way. While we do not yet have a date for the transition to Hybrid, we are working on health and safety protocols, staffing, schedules and offering vaccination clinics to staff. In the meantime, here are a few FAQs about the transition to Hybrid or staying in CDL:
What can I expect from the K-5 Hybrid schedule?
- Each homeroom class will be divided into two cohorts, or small groups, Cohort A and B.
- Cohort A will come to school on Monday and Tuesday and cohort B will come to school on Thursday and Friday.
- Wednesday will be used for deep cleaning.
- On off-site days, students will access a morning meeting via Zoom with their teacher and their entire homeroom class (cohort A and B).
- Students will also have flexible learning that includes core content, music and PE activities on their off-site days.
- As part of our health and safety protocols, on-site days will have slightly staggered arrival and dismissal times with a release time of right around 1:30.

What can I expect from the CDL schedule?
- At Meadow View, we plan to have one of our teachers at each grade level stay in CDL. This will help maintain students’ connection to Meadow View.
- Grade level teacher teams will continue to collaborate and plan together for consistency and continuity in student learning.
- We will stay with the current AM/PM schedule to keep the cohorts small. K-3 students will continue to participate in live learning via Zoom for 1.5 hours each day (M, Tu, Th, F) along with flexible learning.
- Students in grades 4-5 will participate in live learning for 2 hours per day (M, Tu, Th, F) along with flexible learning.
- Wednesdays will still include their morning meeting and flexible learning. Essentially, CDL will look the same as it does right now.
Will my child have the same teacher?
There are a few circumstances that could result in a teacher change. We are currently working on staffing for both CDL and Hybrid instruction and we will do our very best to limit teacher changes. We want kids to stay connected to their classmates and their current teacher. Here are some potential scenarios:
- Some Meadow View teachers will stay in CDL and not return onsite. If your child’s teacher stays in CDL and your child returns to Hybrid, it would naturally result in a teacher change.
- If your child stays in CDL and their teacher returns to Hybrid, this would also result in a teacher change.
- There could be a situation where your child’s teacher plans to be on-site for Hybrid and the majority of their class plans to stay in CDL. In this case or vice versa, we may have to move a handful of students from one class to another to balance out Hybrid homeroom classes.
- At some grade levels, we may need to add another teacher for Hybrid instruction. We have very strict room capacity rules and intend to keep our A/B cohorts small. If we add another teacher to a grade level, some students would move into the new class.
As you can see, there are some circumstances that could result in a teacher change. We believe positive relationships are critical to students’ success in school and will create a warm handoff if a teacher change is needed to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Tenemos nuestra segunda ronda de conferencias durante la semana del 8 al 12 de febrero. Estas se verán un poco diferentes a las de la última vez. Sabemos que cada niño y cada familia tiene necesidades diferentes en este momento, por lo tanto, hemos creado un enfoque variado para las conferencias.
