  • 2015 EXTRA CREDIT:

Pick up a great book and earn some extra credit, too! Here’s what to do:

    1)    Pick up a copy of Mr. Kantz or Mrs. Pruitt’s current book recommendation, and then read the book. (Ask our librarians for help finding it, if needed!)

    2)    Join Mr. Kantz or Mrs. Pruitt and your peers for a book discussion on an assigned date.

    3)    Bring the book to our meeting, share your thoughts, and earn +2% points on your quarter average. (Arrive prepared to share your thoughts. Otherwise, you may also be asked to write a reflection.)

    4)    You may read up to three extra credit books per quarter. (i.e., read 3 books during Q1 and an 88% average will jump to 94%).

    Mrs. Pruitt’s NOVEMBER book:

A reluctant centenarian much like Forrest Gump (if Gump were an explosives expert) decides it's not too late to start over . . .

After a long and eventful life, Allan Karlsson ends up in a nursing home, believing it to be his last stop. The only problem is that he's still in good health, and in one day, he turns 100. A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn't interested. So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey, involving, among other surprises, a suitcase stuffed with cash, some unpleasant criminals, a friendly hot-dog stand operator, and an elephant (not to mention a death by elephant).
