Extended Studies Services at French Road

The French Road Extended Studies curriculum is multidisciplinary and discovery-oriented, emphasizing higher level thinking skills, problem solving and hands-on experiences. Extended Studies services are intended to be flexible to meet the needs of the children. There are several delivery options that allow for this flexibility and provide a continuum of services.
Whole class experiences and cluster experiences are offered to children in grades 3-5.
Small groups of students are identified to meet regularly with the Extended Studies teacher. Students participating in the small groups are identified through a formal selection process. The curricula for the small groups include in-depth studies stemming from classroom curricula.
Consultation services are provided by the Extended Studies teacher to teachers of grades three through five.
