Mission Statement
The FRES Mental Health program is an integral part of the total educational program for all children in grades 3-5. The Mental Health team is staffed with professional counselors, social workers, licensed mental health counselors, and psychologists who understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population. The mental health staff provides a proactive leadership role that engages all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to help students achieve school success. Our mission aligns with the school’s mission to support the academic achievement and social /emotional development of all students as they prepare for the ever-changing world of the 21st century.

FRES Mental Health Guiding Principles
French Road School Mental Health program serves all students in grades 3-5:
- French Road School Mental Health program is comprehensive in scope, developmental in nature, and proactive in design.
- French Road School Mental Health program supports personal/social development to assist students in acquiring knowledge and skills for success in the real world.
- French Road School Mental Health program has a delivery system which includes: Primary Project, individual and group counseling, full classroom lessons (Second Step, Restorative Circles, Learning for Justice), responsive services and a support/consultation system.
- French Road Elementary School Mental Health program is most effective when delivered in collaboration and partnership with students, families, community members, educators and administrators and other school staff.
