Phillip M. Stokoe Elementary as part of the Innovative Learning Center opened its doors in August 2007. The center was created to provide a learning environment for both children and adult learners. We work in partnership with families, businesses, and community groups to provide exemplary services and support for the teaching/learning process.

Opened on August 27, 2007, as one of two newest elementary schools in the Alvord Unified School District.

Named after Phillip M. Stokoe, an Alvord Unified School District Board Member from 1979 to 2001.

Initially, The Innovative Learning Center was a joint project with the Riverside Community College District and served as an elementary school, an early childhood education site, and a teacher preparation center.

The school mascot is the Starpilot.

The “No Excuses University” program was instituted in 2008.

The Phillip M. Stokoe Museum opened on April 14, 2009.

The Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program was instituted in 2009.

The Phillip M. Stokoe Multi-purpose room opened in 2010.

The STEM-Tastic Tuesdays (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program began in 2014.

Phillip M. Stokoe Elementary School serves kindergarten through fifth grade with an enrollment of aproiximately 650 students.
