Mr. David Fleischer

Hello!

This is my 23rd year of teaching, with experience in elementary school, middle school, and high school. I began teaching as a high school history teacher, but I switched to elementary school which I enjoy much more. I love teaching and I absolutely can’t wait for you to return to class and for us to
resume regular instruction.

Education

I graduated from California Polytechnic University in 1996, with degrees in History and English Literature. I went on to earn postgraduate degrees in History, Special Education, and Educational Leadership. I spent a year studying history at University College in London, England, and I still love visiting the United Kingdom. I also spent three years interviewing World War II Holocaust survivors and cataloging their testimonies for the Shoah Foundation. Samples from this project are on display in museums in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Israel. This summer I read "The Anthropocene Reviewed" by John Green. This book reflects on modern society and the pandemic. John Green is the creator of the Brain Crash video series. I also read "Sprinting Through No Man's Land" by Adin Dobkin. This book tells the story of the 2019 Tour de France following the end of World War One. Finally I read "Masada" about the Jewish revolt against Rome 2,000 years ago. This book was written by Jodi Magness who has been a leading archaeologist in Israel for the past 20 years
