Mrs. Michelle Ashe

Hello!

Hello parents and welcome to the 2022-23 school year! My name is Mrs. Ashe, and I hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and well. I am excited to have your child joining my class this year. We have a LOT to learn, and we will be working hard to make sure that we have the necessary independent learning skills we need to move on to middle school next year. In my classroom, we focus on personal growth goals for each student, no matter where they might be in their progress towards meeting grade level standards. I aim to create a safe space for students to feel free to express themselves and be true to who they are. My goal is to make learning engaging and fun for all. I have created a class website where you and your child can find everything you might need in one place! The class website address is included below, and contains all class codes and other information your child might need to access websites we use regularly for learning. I look forward to meeting all of you and meeting my new students! I truly believe that by working together as a team, we can make this school year a year of growth and progress for all.

About Me:

I have been married for 7 years, and currently live with my husband and our two 4 month-old Whoodle puppies out in Shadow Hills (near Glendale and Burbank). We don’t have any children of our own, which enables me to really put all of my love and attention into my students. I grew up in Orange County, but moved to Corona in 2003 when I returned to school to work on my teaching credential. I attended Cal State Fullerton where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications in 1998. I also earned my teaching credential there in 2004, and my Master’s Degree in Education in 2010. I truly value learning and education above all else, as I feel that knowledge is the power you need to make your life whatever you want it to be. I have been teaching in the Alvord School District for 16 years. I have experience teaching grades 2-6, and have worked at Terrace Elementary, Arizona Middle School, and Stokoe Elementary. This is my 4th year teaching 5th grade. The great thing about teaching so many different grade levels over the years, is that I know where students have been, and I also know what they need to be able to do before they leave me to go to middle school. My goal is to work hand in hand with parents to make sure your child is ready and prepared for what lies ahead for them.
