WHS Mock AccidentA mock automobile accident scene, to simulate what really happens during that type of situation, was staged by the Washington Police and Fire Departments and the Washington Area Ambulance District at Washington High School on Thursday, April 11.

Juniors and seniors from both Washington High School and St. Francis Borgia High School were on hand to get a first-hand look of the consequences and repercussions involving alcohol related accidents.

Theater department students from Washington High School had acting roles in the event.

Emergency personnel treated the mock accident like a real life accident scene.

Washington High School Principal Dr. Eric Turner, Borgia High School Principal Pam Tholen and school resource officer Greg Garrett spoke to the students about making wise decisions and not drinking alcohol following the mock accident.

All of the student actors were recognized to a round of applause following the mock accident scene.

Photos from the mock automobile accident scene are below. A reminder the students in the photos are acting out the accident scene.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office was at WHS during lunch on April 11 showing students their roll-over convincer. This device shows students what can happen if they aren't buckled in during a roll-over crash.

On Thursday, April 18, there will be a First Impact Presentation for new drivers and parents of new drivers. More information is on the Washington Police Department Facebook Page.
