Eighth-grade students in Jennifer Wirthwein’s language arts class at Washington Middle School recently completed their first ELA (English Language Arts) Unit in Study Sync.
The theme was “Everyone Loves a Mystery.”
After reading short stories, students created their own suspenseful narrative. To celebrate the end of the unit, Wirthwein and Dr. Melissa Schwab, School District of Washington Secondary Literacy Coordinator, planned a special activity where they had the students share their stories around a "campfire.”
This is the culminating activity for the class’ suspenseful narrative unit.
School District of Washington Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart and Assistant Superintendent Maranda Anderson were on hand for the stories.
