WINGS Educational Foundation awarded a grant for elementary multi-sensory literacy support within the School District of Washington in the amount of $3,769.87.
Melissa Anderson, SDOW K-5 Literacy Curriculum Coordinator and Instructional Coach, accepted the grant at a recent WINGS meeting.
WINGS promotes educational excellence by providing teacher grants, student scholarships for continued education, state-of-the-art equipment and recognition of outstanding faculty and staff achievement.
This spring, WINGS awarded 19 grants totaling $36,192.
To date, WINGS has awarded 1,221 grants totaling $648,000. Six STEAM grants also have been awarded for $72,000, pushing the overall amount to $720,000.
