Washington West Elementary School held a spelling bee for students in grades four through six on Friday, Feb. 21.
A select group of students participated in the spelling bee, which took place in the gymnasium with fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students and teachers looking on.
Zac Sullivan, a sixth-grade student, was the winner of the spelling bee. Jaelyn Bergin, a sixth-grade student, was the second-place finisher.
Sullivan will represent Washington West Elementary at the Washington Missourian Regional Spelling Bee this spring at East Central College.
