The Washington Police Department will host a Dine to DARE event on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 5-7 p.m. at Main Street Creamery in Washington, 110 West Main Street.
All proceeds benefit the local DARE Programs, specifically helping to buy gifts for graduations, training and materials, and they’re trying to save up for a Darren the Lion costume.
DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is an education program that seeks to prevent the use of controlled drugs, membership in gangs, and violent behavior.
The Dine to DARE event will feature a costume contest, games and prizes while folks can enjoy a cool treat from Main Street Creamery.
