Washington High School played a boys and girls varsity basketball double-header at Union High School on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
The Lady Jays lost 60-12 to Union in the girls game. The Blue Jays fell short to Union in the boys game, 61-47.
Washington’s boys lost the consolation game of the Borgia Turkey Tournament to Union, 66-62, on Nov. 24. The Blue Jays held halftime leads in both games against Union, but couldn’t hold on in the second half.
Alec Brinkmann represented Washington on the Borgia All-Tournament Team. He did not play in the second game against Union because of illness.
The Blue Jays’ home opener will be Tuesday, Dec. 4, against Liberty.
Washington’s girls had their home opener on Monday, Nov. 26, losing to Liberty, 43-36.
The Lady Jays held a 27-21 halftime lead.
