Nominations are being accepted for the WINGS Teacher of the year award.
Anyone may submit a nomination for the WINGS Teacher of the Year; however, if it’s someone other than the building principal, a letter of support from the principal with specific examples listed on the nomination form.
The principal and/or person submitting the nomination must include a statement in 300 words or less why they believe the educator they are nominating should be selected as WINGS Teacher of the Year.
Specific examples should be cited, such as the educator’s methods for meeting student needs, desire for professional growth, community involvement, dedication to the teaching profession, and rapport with students, parents and staff. Include the educator’s name, school name, subject area, grade level and years of experience.
Superintendent Dr. Lori VanLeer and a committee will review the nominations and submit up to 10 to the WINGS Board for final selection. The nominees will be announced at the end of the year program. This will allow more individuals to be recognized. The recipient will be announced at the opening ceremonies for the 2019-20 school year.
Nominations should be sent to the building principal by April 25.
The WINGS Teacher of the Year will be eligible for the Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year.
