Justin and Nicci Fears of Phobius Haunted House presented an ant-bullying assembly entitled, “Don’t Be A Monster” to students in fourth through sixth grade at South Point Elementary on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Don’t Be a Monster was founded by haunted house owners throughout the country and runs an engaging bullying prevention assembly that is put on by actors in haunted houses.
The assembly focused on cyber bullying and the role of an upstander. An upstander is someone who recognizes when something is wrong and acts to make it right. When an upstander sees or hears about someone being bullied, they speak up.
Students were told how to identify cyber bullying incidents and the lasting effects it has on people.
