Two individuals filed for two open seats on the School District of Washington’s Board of Education, meaning there will not be a school board election on April 2. School board filing closed on Tuesday, December 26, at 5 p.m.
The two incumbents, Kevin Blackburn and John Freitag, both filed.
Blackburn is completing his fourth term on the Board after first being elected in 2012. Freitag is completing his third term on the Board after first being elected in 2015.
Board members are elected to three-year terms.
Blackburn and Freitag will be sworn in to begin their new terms at the Board of Education’s Reorganization meeting on April 12.
