Washington High School girls soccer player Sammy Williams is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week, sponsored by First State Community Bank.
Williams, a sophomore forward, is off to a fast start to the season with eight goals in the first nine games, helping the Lady Jays to a 6-3 record.
“Sammy continues to play a vital role in our attack. She improves every game and every practice and finds opportunities to get her teammates involved in the attack,” said Washington Head Soccer Coach Jalynda Vodnansky. “Sammy is quick to pressure a defense, resulting in turnovers in the opposing teams attacking third. Her speed and love for the game is impressive.”
