The cadets of the Washington High School NJROTC's Area Manager's Inspection was held on Wednesday, May 1.
CDR (Commander) Merv Dial, NJROTC Area Manager, Area Nine, conducted the inspection.
CDR Dial rated the unit and the cadets "OUTSTANDING" in all judged categories.
The highlights of the event were the cadets earning two awards. First, they were presented a Unit of Achievement Award for 2019 as one of the top 50 percent of schools in NJROTC Area Nine.
Area Nine is comprised of 52 schools in Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico.
The award was followed by the cadets being presented the NJROTC Area Nine Most Improved Unit Award for 2019, which qualifies them for consideration of being named the Navy League's Most Improved Unit.
The Navy League's Most Improved Unit Award is given to the unit which has shown the most improvement through all 620 plus NJROTC units worldwide.
Master Sergeant Tim Gates is the instructor of the NJROTC program at Washington High School.
Unit of Achievement

Most Improved Unit
