Clearview Elementary Administrative Assistant Michelle Rice Receives Blue Jay Pride Award
Michelle Rice, administrative assistant at Clearview Elementary, is the May recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.
The Blue Jay Pride Award was introduced to recognize and showcase quality School District of Washington staff and the focus on the District’s core beliefs. Through peer nomination, individuals are able to acknowledge exceptional staff who positively impact the schools, district and community.
The individual who is recognized each month will be presented with a traveling plaque and a gift bag.
Rice’s nomination forms stated the following:
“Michelle consistently goes above and beyond to help support our staff, students and parents. Every day, she greets students and parents with a positive attitude and her warm smile. She takes time out of her busy schedule to visit with our students and staff just to build rapport and be an encouragement. Michelle also goes well out of her way to provide for the needs of our staff. Whether it is getting a sub on short notice, running copies, or just keeping everything running smoothly in the office, we are all fortunate to have her. I greatly appreciate Michelle's efforts every day and would like to see her recognized for this award.”
“Michelle puts her whole heart into her job as the secretary of Clearview Elementary. She is efficient, friendly and caring. She is always thinking about what can be done to make Clearview a better place. No matter what kind of stress we are facing, she greets everyone with a positive tone and makes sure to get the answers they need. She goes above and beyond by taking time away from her family at times to make special activities happen. Clearview is a better place because she is at the front of all situations and shows her positive attitude and caring heart. She definitely has the ROCK characteristics.”
Rice was presented the Blue Jay Pride Award traveling plaque by SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart. She also received a gift bag from the Bank of Washington.
Representing the Bank of Washington were Brad Mitchell and Brenden Brinker.
