WHS Principal Dr. Kelle McCallum Receives Consummate Professional Award
Dr. Kelle McCallum, Washington High School Principal, has been named the winner of the Consummate Professional Award from the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP) for the South Central Region.
MASSP and Walsworth Publishing Company annually honor one principal chosen in each of the eight MASSP Districts as the MoASSP/Walsworth Publishing Company Consummate Professional.
McCallum was nominated for this award by her peers and chosen to receive it by a MoASSP committee.
“I’m honored to receive this award. It’s a credit to the great students, staff and administrators I get to work with. I share this recognition with them,” McCallum said.
“Dr. McCallum is an amazing leader who has fearlessly guided us through every situation under the sun, including a global pandemic,” said WHS Assistant Principal Mary Kleekamp. “Kelle is very deserving of this accolade as she endlessly works to support and advocate for students and teachers here at WHS. She is supportive, forward thinking, and student-centered. She creates opportunities for her staff to lead and follow their passions. She listens to students and is open to implementing their ideas. Kelle puts others first and has been a dedicated member of WHS for the last 23 years.”
For receiving this award, McCallum was recognized at the MoASSP Spring Conference Monday, March 29, at The Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark. She will be given a $500 scholarship that will be awarded to a high school graduating senior of her choice.
The Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals seeks to recognize exemplary performance among secondary school principals who have succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students.
