Marthasville Elementary School held a Veterans Day Assembly on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
Staff and students honored and paid tribute to United States Veterans.
Veterans entered the gymnasium while led by the Boy Scouts.
The Boy Scouts presented the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The national anthem was sung by all Marthasville Elementary students.
Opening the assembly with a welcome message were student council members Ana Linkogel and Zac Karll.
Highlights of the assembly were:
“Oh I love America” performed by K-3 students.
“Bless You” read by students Layla Evans and Kersten Mayer.
“Stars and Stripes Forever” performed by fifth-grade students.
“America” performed by sixth-grade students.
“Veterans” read and written by Ruby Mitchem.
“Fifty Nifty United States” performed by grades 4-6.
“Armed Forces Song” performed by grades 4-6.
The Veterans on hand introduced themselves. The Boy Scouts retired the colors. Refreshments were served to the Veterans.
