Labadie Elementary School held its spelling bee on Tuesday, March 10.
A select group of students participated in the spelling bee, which took place in the gymnasium with other students and teachers looking on.
Lainey Ahal, a fifth-grade student, was the winner of the spelling bee. Kate Eckelkamp, a fifth-grade student, was the second-place finisher. Jade Kreese, a fourth-grade student, placed third.
Ahal will represent Labadie Elementary at the Washington Missourian Regional Spelling Bee at East Central College.
Also participating in the spelling bee were Anna Pini, Naomi Arcelona, Henry Schenk, Layla Bass, Brennan Pfeiffer and Nathan Oreskovic.
