Kaleb Burr, a junior at Washington High School, is the new student adviser for the School District of Washington Board of Education.
Burr was sworn in during the Board of Education meeting on Jan. 29.
Burr replaces Tristan Zeh, who was recognized for his service to the board during the meeting. The term for student advisers are for one year.
Kaleb is the son of Mike and Lisa Burr. He is a member of the WHS varsity football team, serves on Coach Derick Heflin's Leadership Council for football, and spends time as a volunteer with the Junior Jays program. Kaleb also is junior class Vice President, and is a member of Link Crew and the track and field team. He holds a 3.9 grade-point average.
The student adviser is expected to attend all regular board meetings and may be asked to report on particular issues.
The adviser also is expected to communicate with students throughout the district on a regular basis.
The student adviser does not sit in on executive sessions or is privy to any confidential information.
