Early Leaning Center Administrative Assistant Heike Sehrt Receives Blue Jay Pride Award
Heike Sehrt, administrative assistant at the Early Learning Center, is the March recipient of the Blue Jay Pride Award.
The Blue Jay Pride Award was introduced to recognize and showcase quality School District of Washington staff and the focus on the District’s core beliefs. Through peer nomination, individuals are able to acknowledge exceptional staff who positively impact the schools, district and community.
The individual who is recognized each month will be presented with a traveling plaque and gift card.
Sehrt’s two nominations state the following:
“Heike has been in the district for many years. She has been is a variety of positions and is always willing to help anyone and everything. Heike was the secretary at Clearview Elementary when I first started teaching. Even though she has since moved to the ELC, she is always willing to help in any way possible, even if it just to answer questions I am unsure of.”
“Heike has put her heart and sole into the School District of Washington and would do anything, not just for the staff, but also for her students. When students see her out in public, they beam with joy to be able to run and give Mrs. Heike a hug. She is a true inspiration to anyone who has had the opportunity to work with her.”
Sehrt was presented the Blue Jay Pride Award traveling plaque by SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart and ELC Director Dr. Dawn Hellebusch. She also received a gift bag from the Bank of Washington.
Representing the Bank of Washington were Buzz Eckelkamp, Jay Nowak, Danielle Unnerstall and Melissa Buel.
