Four Rivers Career Center held a Student Professional Development Day on Thursday, Dec. 13.
Community business leaders and education professionals from the School District of Washington, East Central College and the University of Nebraska gave presentations to the students covering a wide range of topics to help them prepare for their future.
Students were given a list of the presentations available and picked their top three choices to attend.
The 60-minute event for both the morning and afternoon students were broken down into three 20-minute sessions.
The presenters on hand and their presentations are as follows:
Interviewing Skills – Hank Epstein, Quality Coach.
Keeping a Job and Moving Up – Dr. Rachael Franssen, School District of Washington Assistant Superintendent.
Resume Writing Tips – Lee Fronick, WIOA.
Healthy Lifestyles – Dallas Pennock, YMCA.
Google Apps – Lauren Banion, Media Specialist.
Opportunities at the Library – Claire Miller, Washington Library.
Military Life – Washington High School ROTC instructor Tim Gates.
Scholarships – Stephen Held, University of Nebraska.
FAFSA Information – Lorrie Baird from East Central College.
Transferring College Credits – Stephani McCrary from East Central College
Human Resources Panel – Mallory Williams from Manpower and Sherri Schaefer from Four Rivers Career Center.
Human Resources Panel – Gretchen Homeyer from Homeyer Tool, Julie Scannell from G.H. Tool & Mold, and John Eudy and Martina Davis from Fricks.
