The School District of Washington officially opened its new baseball/softball complex with a baseball jamboree on Saturday, March 11.
The Fields at South Point is located at the site of the old South Point Elementary.
Prior to the start of the jamboree, SDOW administrators and board members threw out the first pitch.
Work on the complex still has not been completed as scoreboards need to arrive and be installed. Construction of the locker room/concession stand/restrooms is expected to begin soon.
On hand to throw out first pitches were SDOW Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Kephart, SDOW Director of Buildings and Grounds Jeff Solter, and Board of Education members Susan Thatcher and Dr. Frank Wood.
