WHS Basketball Player Elizabeth Reed Named Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week
Washington High School girls basketball player Elizabeth Reed is the Washington Missourian Athlete of the Week.
Reed, a 5-4 senior guard, reached 1,000 career points during the first round of the Washington Tournament. She followed that up with a 26-point performance in the consolation semifinals and was named to the all-tournament team.
On the season, Reed is averaging 12.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. She leads the team in made three-pointers and is shooting 72 percent from the free-throw line.
Reed is a four-year varsity basketball starter at WHS and also plays softball, where she’s been a part of two state championship teams and three Final Four squads. She will continue her academic and basketball career next year at Culver-Stockton College in Canton.
