The Four Rivers Career Center’s CAPS Teaching Careers team competition placed third in the Nation at the Educators Rising National Conference June 29-July 2 in Orlando, Fla.
There were over 60 teams in the event, and over 2,500 aspiring teachers from across the nation. A total of nine students from the CAPS Teaching Careers program were on hand.
The team was made up of Matthew Freitag, Sarah Desmond and Katelyn Rice.
Additionally, the Teaching Careers students presented Professional Development at the conference, a session called “Serving Our School Community.”
The Teaching Careers students, along with instructor Jenny Meers, participated in break-out sessions and met the National Teacher of the year during the conference as well.
Other FRCC students who participated were Katelyn Dittberner, Myla Inman, Kirsten Monnig, Emily Smith, Molly Bauer, and Avery Marquart.
“I’m so proud of this great group and can’t wait to see then return and teach in the area in a few short years,” Meers said.
