Observing Red Ribbon Week, a national campaign focusing on drug awareness, Clearview Elementary School held an assembly on Monday, Oct. 29.
Buildings throughout the School District of Washington are recognizing Red Ribbon Week.
The Clearview Elementary student body heard from guest speakers about the importance of saying no to drugs. Speaking were:
Mindy Schmelz, Washington Police Officer and School Resource Officer;
Casey Stick, representing the Washington Elks (sponsoring Red Ribbon Week.
Deputy Donnie Dunn from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, along with his dog, Dino.
Representing the Washington High School boys and girls wrestling teams were Head Coach Josh Ohm and current wrestlers Mia Reed, Tate Hendricks and Johnny Duncan.
Also on hand were Captain Jim Armstrong and Lt. Mark Lindgren from the Washington Police Department.
