Newcomers Kelly Brinkmann and Frank Wood won seats on the School District of Washington’s Board of Education from the Tuesday, April 5, election.
There were two open seats on the Board of Education and six candidates on the ballot. Also on the ballot were incumbent Matt Wilson and newcomers Trish Mitchell, Chantell Unnerstall and Maryanne Scaniosharp. Voters selected two candidates.
Brinkmann and Wood both will begin their first term on the Board. Wilson was seeking his second term after being elected in 2019. Board members are elected to three-year terms.
A total of 8,842 votes were cast; 7,928 in Franklin County, 654 in Warren County and 260 in St. Charles County.
Brinkmann and Wood will be sworn in during the Board of Education’s reorganizational meeting on Tuesday, April 19, at 7:30 a.m. at the SDOW’s Board of Education building.
