Mr. Brown, STEM teacher from Sand Creek Middle School, visited Mrs. LoPresti’s third grade classroom at Roessleville Elementary School to lead science experiments. The students worked in pairs to see firsthand how non-touching forces can work. Mr. Brown then led a group experiment to deepen the students’ understanding of this concept.
Colonie Central High School senior Liberty Sager is enrolled in the Career Exploration Internship Program course and is in the process of completing her internship in Elementary Education at Roessleville Elementary School. January 14th kicked off the Roessleville Elementary School Read for Ronald McDonald House program. Students will collect pledges and will then be reading and fundraising. Every child that participates will be helping another family stay at the Albany Ronald McDonald House. This reading based community service project runs through February 13.

Mrs. Jaskot’s Kindergarten students at Roessleville Elementary School are using Chromebooks to play Kodable. Kodable is a computer science based program that requires students to problem solve. Student’s learn about intermediate programming concepts before building a space puzzler game using Object-Oriented Programming and JavaScript.
