After 20 years of being in the district I can’t help but reflect on how far RDV and the Rio School District has come in terms of the importance of school counseling. I was the first counselor (that I am aware of) and now we have 9 counselors that serve the district. Although I continue to be the sole counselor at RDV I do have help from fellow veteran counselors once a week from Mr. Toledo (Rio Plaza), Mr. Anaya (Rio Rosales), and new to the team Ms. Barragan (Rio Lindo). We have over 700 students and I am so excited to see all their faces and having another year to be of serivice to the Rio community. We look forward to returning to our normal programing like monthly parent workshops, classroom presentations, individual/small group counseling, as well as our peer resource program.
