This past Friday, April 12, marked a special celebration at Swift Water Elementary School. In partnership with the school's VPO (Volunteer Parent Organization), we were thrilled to host our third annual Purple Up Day—a day dedicated to recognizing the resilience and sacrifices of our military children.

Swift Water Elementary proudly supports over 50 families with active duty military members. Purple Up Day provides an opportunity for us to honor these incredible young individuals. Read more to see photos of the special celebration.

Don’t forget! Next week, April 15 through 19, is spring break for all PSD students. There is no school and district offices are closed to the public. 

Enjoy a week off and we’ll see you Monday, April 22!

Welcome, Kindergartners! Online kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. Registering early allows you to find out about all of the transition activities we have planned in the spring and summer!

All of our students are working hard on their Cultural Connections projects and they can't wait to share them with our Swift Water Community! Please mark your calendars for Thursday, Feburary 8 from 5:30 - 7:30. Your student will be your guide as you veiw student projects and complete a passport of learing.

Please note that you’re welcome to attend at any time that works for you, however, below are some recommended entry times to alleviate large groups coming in at once. 

5:30-6:00 Families with the last name initial A-G

6:00-6:30 Families with the last name initial H-M

6:30-7:00 Families with the last name initial N-Z

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there is no school on Monday, January 15, and district offices will be closed. Enjoy your weekend! 

As the stormy season is upon us, we wanted to share a reminder of Peninsula School District's procedures and expectations during inclement weather and school closures. You can also find this information, as well as Emergency Snow Routes, on our website at psd401.net/transportation.

Reminder, all Peninsula School District schools and offices will be closed from Thursday, December 21 through Tuesday, January 2.

On Wednesday, January 3, school resumes with late start. Have a great winter break!

Impact your child’s learning by completing the 2023-24 Federal Impact Aid survey.

A quick survey that takes five minutes to fill out can generate thousands of dollars in funding for textbooks, materials, hiring staff and educators and more military student support. 

All parents who have children enrolled in the Peninsula School District received a Parent Square message inviting them to complete the survey.

We value your input and are committed to creating an inclusive and effective learning environment in the Peninsula School District. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the overall experience for students, parents, and staff, we invite you to participate in our school calendar survey.
 

In observance of Thanksgiving, a reminder there is no school from Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Friday, Nov. 24. 

District buildings will be closed to the public on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. School resumes for students on Monday, Nov. 27. 

We would like to honor Veterans/Military members past and present by making a slideshow. If you have a Veteran that you would like to honor, please send their picture in a .jpeg format to Mr. Wilson (our amazing music teacher), at wilsonjd@psd401.net Please note in the email who we are celebrating, branch and rank and which Swift Water student they are connected to. The deadline for photos is October 31. 

Swift Water's first and third grades and our Honor Choir will be performing a Verteran's Day Concert on Wednesday, November 8. Doors will open at 6:15 for students to head down to their classrooms to wait for their time to perform. Families will be able to find seating at 6:15 and our performance will start at 6:30 pm. 

We hope to see you all on Wednesday, November 8!

Picture retakes are scheduled for Tuesday, November 7 in the morning. 

If you didn't like your student's photo, please send the picture packet back to school and send a ParentSquare message to your student's teacher. This will let us know that your student needs to be re-photographed.

Don't be Late!  There's no late start on Wednesday, October 25. School starts at 9:00 AM!

Don't forget that conference week is next week. Students will be released at 12:15 PM every day.
