Working...
The Building Trades students have had some good projects to work on this year. The house addition we started earlier in the year is nearly complete. As of now the wiring is complete and students are working on installing trim and interior doors. Floor coverings will be installed next week. From there they will follow up by finishing the trim work, installing a toilet, bathroom sink and the finishing touch ups. The house will be ready to occupy the following week. This has been a great project showing all the aspects in building a house.
Another project we are working on right now is finishing the inside of the health department's storage shed. When we started this project it was a bare pole barn with no air control, poor lighting, and in need of more shelves. Students have insulated, done some framing, built shelves, and are currently installing metal on the walls and ceilings. They also will be putting in new electrical outlets, new lighting and some duct work to get air control in the building.
