My building trades students in periods 2-4 and 6-8 are working on a concrete project. We tore out concrete out from under a carport and a driveway here in town. We then removed sand that was under the exsisting concrete. Our next step was to lay gravel down to give a good base for the new concrete. The gravel was leveled and compacted by the students. Concrete forms were installed and rebar will be layed. We are hoping to have some of the concrete poured by the end of October. For most of the students this is their first experience with concrete and they will soon learn that being prepared and organized is essential when we actually begin the pouring process.
