Hands-On Learning in Science
Things have been busy in science! 7th-grade students have been learning about ecosystems. They built an ecosystem biome in a shoebox. I have attached some pictures of some of the boxes. We just finished a lab where they were able to see what owls eat. With a partner, the students dissected owl pellets. They found mole, vole, rat, mouse, and bird bones in their pellets. In high school, Biology II students have been busy learning about earthworms. We dissected them and the students were able to identify the digestive, nervous, circulatory, and reproductive tracts in the worm. Chemistry I is learning about the periodic table. Chemistry II is learning about acids, bases, and salts.
