FCCLA Advances to National STAR Events
The Putnam County FCCLA competed at State STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) Events held in Osage Beach, MO with much success. The Putnam County FCCLA had ten members who created various projects for judging. Students developed a range of items including research portfolios, presentation boards, and oral presentations. The State STAR events were held in conjunction with the FCCLA State Leadership Conference. Therefore, students also benefited from conferences lead by FCCLA’s state officers and other inspirational speakers. Putnam County students received awards at state and are as follows:
Job Interview: Emily D - Gold/National Qualifier
Food Innovations: Maggie F., and Jaylee M. - Gold/National Qualifier
Life Event Planning - Graycie R., Chloe T., and Sydney T. - Gold
Environmental Ambassador - Kylea W., Justyce H. - Silver
National Programs in Action - Community Service - Karlie I., Carsen S. - Silver
All national qualifiers will advance to National STAR Events in Anaheim, CA. Three students qualified and will be representing Putnam County in June. Congratulations on all your hard work and good luck in Anaheim!
