Summer 2021 Update

Dear Panther Families,

I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying your summer! The purpose of this letter is to update you on items for the 2021-2022 school year that have been discussed and updated via our latest Board meetings. We wanted to ensure that this information was communicated early as we have had some questions regarding what the 2021-2022 school year will look like. This information can also be found at https://pioneerschool.us.

Pioneer School will be returning to a regular school setting next year. Remote learning will cease unless Pioneer School is required to return to it through local determination by the school board or a required mandate. We encourage anyone who is anticipating not having their student return to an in-person learning plan to contact Sherry Long at https://www.co.yellowstone.mt.go/schools/ or (406) 256-6933 for more information regarding homeschooling. We would also greatly appreciate it if you would let us know of your decision as well.

I am excited to announce that we will be holding Kindergarten Roundup live, on campus, on Tuesday, August 17th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. We look forward to meeting all of our new Panthers and their families. Parents will need to register using our online Enrollment Form that can be found on our website at https://pioneerschool.us/contact-us/student-enrollment-form/. Necessary paperwork to be given to the front office during your visit or before school starts includes a certified birth certificate and an up-to-date immunization record.

In September, Pioneer School will be running a bond election to address a deteriorating infrastructure and ADA inaccessibility and non-compliance of our 1950’s brick building. We would like to take this opportunity to invite our district members and Panther community to an Open House on Friday, August 27th, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Information regarding the project and bond election will be distributed and discussed during this event.

The start of the 2021-2022 school year is right around the corner! The Back to School Newsletter will be sent out in the first few weeks of August. This newsletter will have important information and links to ensure that all the necessary paperwork is completed and we are ready to hit the ground running on the first day of school, August 25, 2021.

I hope you all enjoy the remainder of your summer break and I cannot wait to see you all in August!

Sincerely,

Melissa Schnitzmeier
